with a wealth of natural resources, including products created by
agricultural activity. It is a major food producer and worldwide exporter.
This chapter describes the main features that make Argentina a key food
producer. It reviews its current demographic status and future trends
and describes the state of its population’s food and nutrition security. It
also details the institutional environment in which research is conducted
in this field, outlining its strengths and weaknesses.
